Green Goddess Dressing or Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 2 TBS mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 TBS horseradish sauce
  • 1 cup chopped fresh herbs — dill, parsley, chives, and any others; the dill is not absolutely required but is commonly used
  • 1 TBS lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced or crushed
  • 2 TBS finely minced shallots, scallions, or chives
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Combine the mayo, sour cream, and horseradish sauce in a small bowl. Whisk or stir with a fork until blended.
  • Fold in the other ingredients and stir. Taste and adjust salt, pepper, and lemon.
  • It can be stored for a day in the refrigerator in a tightly closed jar. It does not freeze well.
